So this week I made some soap in the kitchen! I hope this video helps anyone who is daunted by making soap for the first time, plus I’ll show you a super easy way to add milk to your soap recipes.

Depending on the different oils you use in your own soap, the cooking time may vary greatly, but it will always go through the same stages. The book that first got me started on my soap making adventures was Smart Soapmaking by Anne L Watson, she makes it simple and non-intimidating to get started.
Soapcalc is the best website to make your own recipes that work! Just plug in the oils you want to use into the calculator and it will do the rest for you. This is where my recipe came from, so the layout will look familiar to you.
Here is my recipe:
Some of the sites I get my supplies from are:
Bulk Apothecary – They have a huge selection of anything soap related
Piping Rock – This company sells vitamins and such, but you can get good deals on oils
And of course, Amazon. This is the best deal I found on that giant container of coconut oil. It smells so good!
You can use an empty milk carton as a mold to get you started if you don’t want to purchase anything special for soap making.
So that’s about it! I hope that this info helps y’all to get started making your own soap. The possible combinations are endless!
